Rule-based retention
Each record class receives an approved retention period and deletion mode. Enterprise contracts may shorten or extend periods where lawful and operationally supported.

Retention rules separate customer records, evidence custody, security logs, billing duties and legal holds instead of applying one silent lifetime.

Preserved evidence and custody logs may require longer retention than routine telemetry so a reviewed conclusion can be reconstructed and challenged.
Requests require identity and tenant verification, scope confirmation and a check for legal holds. Completion events are recorded without retaining unnecessary request content.
Deleted records may persist in protected backups until the normal rotation completes. Restored backups must re-apply deletion markers before returning to production use.
A documented legal hold pauses routine deletion only for the affected records. Access remains restricted and the hold must be reviewed and released when no longer required.
